Make it a masterpiece

People ascribe different metaphors to life. I have heard “Life is a gift”, “Life is a stage”, “Life is a mystery”, “Life is a movie”, “Life is a journey”, and at different times we may describe our lives with different metaphors. But for now let us look at life as a movie. You have different characters, different plot twist, and an ending. Some movies are exciting and some are boring. If you were given creative control over your life, what would you make of it? Would you keep people at the edge of their seats as the hero faces the bad guy? Would you make your audience fall in love with the beauty of the romance that unfolds? Would you scare them as the hero takes big risk that could yield great returns of disaster? Would you fill their hearts with awe at the breath taking sites visited? What would you make of it? You are the leading character in the story of your life; everyone else is just playing a supporting role. You could decide to turn some of the cast members into main characters, even leading men or ladies.

I see God as the story writer, the great author, and He has written the best story possible, packed with adventures, thrills, excitement, love, beauty. “For I know the thoughts I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope”… Jeremiah 29:11. But in the story of your life, you are the director. You are responsible for how each scene plays out. You can choose to direct your life into His story or you can direct it in any other way that you please, it is your choice. You can make it epic, or boring. You set the stage, or at least work well with the one you have been given. You get to make the most or the very least of each scene. You have creative control, so make it a masterpiece. And at the end when the curtain comes down, I pray that you get an applause, not just on earth, but in heaven too.

The tale of two dogs

Everything you see around you, everything that surrounds you is just a reflection of who you are. You see the world not as it is, but as you are.

Get to work!!!

Whatever it is you want, if it makes you happy,  makes you better, enriches the lives of others, puts a smile on God's face, makes you proud, if it is worth it, THEN GET TO IT!!!

"Whatever your hand find to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or device or knowledge, or wisdom in the grave where you are going"... Ecclesiastes 9:10

Wanna know your future?

Have you ever heard the saying “where the mind goes the man follows”? Well I have found that to be very true. Your mind is capable of moving you. You mind is so powerful that it can get you off your butt or keep you on it. The mind makes plans and executes it. The mind makes habits and breaks it. The mind can be a prison or a great escape. The mind is your greatest forecast. If you want to know what the future holds for you, look into your mind. What occupies your mind? If your mind is filled with negative and painful thoughts, then gear-up for a negative and painful life. But if your mind is beautiful and positive, your life will reflect that. That is why it is impossible to think good thoughts and be a bad person.  Now you see how powerful the mind is. Some people were captured and tortured but in their minds they envisioned freedom and because of the strong thoughts of freedom their minds held, they eventually became free.

But here’s the good thing. Your mind is under your control. Do not put your life in autopilot by allowing just about anything into your thoughts. Examine every though. The Bible puts it this way: “Casting down every argument and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). Really take the time to think about what it is you are thinking about. Examine your thoughts. Is it positive? Is it helpful? Do you need to sort this out? Do you need to let this go for now or forever? Do you need to steer clear of these thoughts because you already know how it always ends? What does God say about this thought? You need to examine your thoughts. This will not come naturally, but with time it will be like breathing. Examining your thoughts helps de-clutter your life and keeps you on the right direction because you get to decide what you are thinking about.

So, think about this for a while.

PTG

Whenever fear sets in my heart for any reason I always say to myself, PTG. Pray, Trust God and Get going (PTG).

Commitment

It’s easy to agree to a task or just about anything and get started on it when the initial excitement is there. But what happens after a few weeks, months or even years when the initial feeling that got you to commit wears off? Lots of people find reasons to back out. They say it’s time to move on; this is not for me anymore. I’m not saying that you should not grow and move on from certain things. Change is inevitable, but ensure your life is making positive changes. I’m saying that if there is a commitment in your life that you have made, a commitment to something positive that you have not completed, do not dishonor it. Do not look for easy exits, do not quit. I recently started a healthy and clean living. There are mornings I wake up and do not want to go to the gym but I do it anyways, because I know it is for my own good and I want to grow through this and be healthy. I want to make myself proud. A good commitment will help you build positive habits and help you grow.

Here’s my suggestion for keeping the commitment fire burning; Re-ignite it very often. Remind yourself why you do this. If you have made a commitment to making your dreams come true every day you wake up remind yourself why you do this. If it is a commitment to a spouse rekindle what you have very often to keep it burning and passionate. Seek mentors to help you, people that have gone down that same road. Seek friends and family to hold you accountable.

When you make a commitment, honor it.
